All exteriors in the community are wood and set on large parcels of land required by covenants set to protect the natural shoreline. The lakefront community also offers several amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts. The lake will take you away from the the business of life with its remote looking views, without the overly developed shore line. Lake Joseph is known for bass fishing where you have access to put in a small boat (electric motors only), canoe, sailboat, or kayak. The sandy beach area also provides room for swimming. For other amenities there is a swimming pool, tennis courts, and sports court.

In the surrounding areas, you have access to several different activities as well! It is close to the Bethel Performing Arts Center, Forestburgh Playhouse, Monticello Motor Club, Monticello Raceway, and Resorts World Catskills| Hotel & Casino, as well as plenty of hiking areas on Forestburgh State Land and around the Swinging Bridge Reservoir. The Forestburgh General Store is also a go to for last minute items, a quick bite, and other local gifts along Route 42.
